Former ECSOD Dancers Then & WOW!!!

Brian Day

How many years did you dance and/or teach with ECSOD? What styles of dance did you participate in and/or teach?

I was a dancer for two and a half years and a teacher for two. I taught Hip Hop and Jazz and I danced with ECSOD’s Competitive College Team in Lyrical, Jazz and Hip Hop.

Tell us a little about why you chose ECSOD?

I chose ECSOD because I had heard really great things about the studio family. I also knew of Miki and Steph from past years through the studio as I had attended the recital a few different times. I also really liked their competition offerings for many ages, including college.

Tell us about your life after the studio-- What are you doing now? Where are you located? What are your favorite things about what you are doing now?

I am currently a performer at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. What I love most about my job is that I get the opportunity to perform for thousands of people on a daily basis and share my love for performance and dance with them. Being able to share my passion with others is something I have always loved to do, and to be able to make magic and so many special memories with so many people from all over the world is something I cherish every day.

How do you feel ECSOD helped prepare you for life after the studio?

Well, obviously the wealth of dance knowledge was excellent. They helped better my technique and skills while enhancing my abilities to perform different styles of dance. They knew just how to push me towards becoming my best as a dancer. Further than that, the dance families and instructors gave me the confidence to pursue my dreams and follow my heart. Yes, my career at this point is based around dance and performance, but I also feel they would have done the same thing for me regardless of my career choice.

Would you recommend a beginner dancer to come to ECSOD? Why?

I would absolutely recommend a beginner dancer to go to ECSOD. They are excellent with children and know how to make classes fun while teaching dance and other skills at the same time. They teach the students to push themselves, try new things, and make friends with their fellow dancers. The dance family at ECSOD is so supportive and welcoming, I would recommend it to anyone.
